In late 2016, I found myself wanting to know all manner of stuff relating to football kit manufacturers. Stuff like 'When did Bukta stop making kits for teams in England and Wales?" or "Which clubs have Hummel previously made kits for?" Even big questions like "How many kit manufacturers have there been since 1970?" needed answering.
Fortunately for me, all the information needed to answer these questions was available at the ever-brilliant Historical Football Kits website. The bad news was that it was scattered across over a hundred separate web pages. Over a hundred long web pages. No matter - I felt the time had come to collect all the relevant pieces of data, enter them into a spreadsheet and create a report that presented a useful reference for anyone interested in the statistical side of football kit manufacturing.
And here below is the end product of all that research: a document containing tables, graphs and a little bit of text to help you understand what's been put before you. I hope you find it interesting or useful in some way, and needless to say that if you have any comments or feedback, I'd be grateful to hear from you.
