Steve Halliwell nominates a special kit once worn by his favourite club, Wigan Athletic...
"It all started when I got back from sunnier climes in 1995 and as I walked through the town centre on my way to the stadium. There, proudly displayed in my local JJB store, was attire that was outstandingly beautiful in both design and colours.
"This also coincided with the arrival of The Three Amigos - Isidro Díaz, Roberto Martinez and Jesus Seba - that in itself was a major joyous coup. However, it was the kit that was the revelation in the revolution that Dave Whelan had just started and which ultimately ended in Premier League football for eight consecutive seasons and the famous FA Cup win in 2013.
"I don't have many replica shirts but this has pride of place in my collection, manufactured in heavy duty material with a proper sewn on badge along with the sponsor JJB (obviously) in the actual material not a shiny stick on affair.
"My shirt has been worn, washed and ironed many times over and it is in 'as new' condition... top quality garment made in the UK by Puma.
"The one and only downturn to this thing of beauty is that the actual shop staff in the JJB stores wore this garment as part of their uniform but without the glorious 'tree and crown' badge."
Many thanks to Steve for suggesting this fine kit as part of our series. Check out the Wigan Athletic kit page here...
