The new Pancedown home kit for 2022-23 was launched earlier today (see right), and as recent leaks suggested, kit maker Utero have gone with a retro design.

Following the recent trend for bringing back designs from previous seasons, Utero have gone back to last season to create a slight update on the one worn by Pancedown in 2021-22 (see below).

Next season's home shirt will be blue as usual, however the Italian kit maker has brought back the popular checkerboard pattern that was so popular when seen way back a few weeks ago.

A Utero press release stated "the fans have been telling us for weeks now how much they want the classic old designs of yesteryear to be brought back and modernised, and we're more than happy to oblige."

Pancedown's new home shirt sees a change in the look of the sponsor logo with a thrilling upper case font being employed for the upcoming campaign. Last season's checked pattern has also been tweaked, with an enlargement of the squares by 0.02%. Utero claim this is the minimum change required to classify this as a 'new design,' as specified in the league's guidelines.

Initial reaction on social media was somewhat underwhelming, with one fan calling the new shirt 'familiar.'

The white shorts and white socks from the 2021-22 kit complete the new look, and fans can buy the kit from the Pancedown club shop on July 1st.
