The 100 Greatest Football Shirt Templates: Why so slow?

Hi everyone...

I know many of you are eagerly following my series, The Kitbliss 100 Greatest Football Shirt Templates, and I truly appreciate your support and positive comments. Understandably, a growing number of you have asked why it's taken so long to reach - [checks notes] - number 33 in the series and when the hell I'm ever likely to get to the end of the project. Let me explain...

Each article I publish is the result of many weeks of research, writing, and illustration. Many of you will be keen to know exactly which teams wore a particular shirt template, and it's always my aim to put together the longest list possible in graphic form so that you can see for yourself. This is meant to be the best and most thorough resource possible for anyone that's interested in shirt templates, so it's not just throwing together some images with some badly written text. I’m creating something that honours the history and artistry behind the shirt designs we all love.

Ever since I started this '100 Greatest Templates' project, I've been working predominantly on my own, except for some of the articles that were written by my good friend, Jay. Each article, complete with all of the accompanying kit graphics, can take anything up to six or seven weeks to complete. With 32 articles still to go, there's still a long way to go. The biggest challenge? Time. I juggle this project alongside a part-time job (my only regular source of income), which limits how much I can create each week.

But here’s the thing: you can help me change that.

If you enjoy the series and want to see it completed faster, please consider supporting me on Ko-fi.com. Even a small contribution helps me dedicate more time to this project. With enough support, I could reduce my day job by one day a week, giving me a full extra day to focus on researching, writing and illustrating.

Your support means:

  • More frequent articles
  • Bonus content for supporters
  • Name checks on articles
  • A faster path to completing the full series

This isn't so much me asking for charity. I’m inviting you to be part of the creative process. Let’s finish this journey together.

Thank you for your patience.

Chris.
