13 June 1974

Yugoslavia become the first national team to visibly wear the three-stripe branding of Adidas on their team kit in a World Cup match. It's seen during the opening game of the 1974 World Cup where Yugoslavia played out a 0-0 draw with Brazil.

18 June 1974

Scotland wear sock tags for the first time in an international match - their 2-0 win over Zaire in the opening match of their 1974 World Cup campaign. They would go on to wear the same sock tags in their two following World Cup games.
