Shirt Showdown: Vote 1
For this vote-off, you were invited to choose your favourite of three shirts that featured a 'bib,' or upper section that's blocked out in a single colour. Here were the options...
Shirt A
Brentford (1983-84 home). Made by Osca, it featured a red wrapover v-neck and cuffs, red and white striped sleeves and lower chest. The upper chest featured a white section, contained in which was the Brentford club badge and Osca logo in black. Also appearing was the red logo of the courier delivery service and shirt sponsor, DHL.
Shirt B
Everton (1985-86 home). This blue Le Coq Sportif shirt had a white upper section edged in yellow piping, within which was a blue v-neckline containing two lines of white piping (also repeated on the cuffs). The blue part of the shirt was adorned with a repeating shadow pattern of broad and narrow stripes and occasional Le Coq Sportif logos. The shirt sponsor was Japanese electronics company, NEC.
Shirt C
Notts County (1986-87 home). Featuring the club's traditional black and white colouring, this Admiral shirt had similar piping on the neckline and cuffs to the Everton shirt previously mentioned. While the sleeves and lower part of the chest were decorated with bold stripes, the upper part of the chest was coloured in solid white, providing a clear background for all logos, including that of American jeans manufacturer, Wrangler.
